Showcasing @ROBOCOOP-EU: From agro-industrial by-products to new value chains
Through its project poster exhibition, CIHEAM Bari presents the ROBOCOOP-EU approach to transforming agro-industrial by-products into potential resources for innovative and sustainable applications.
The project focuses particularly on by-products from olive, grape and stone fruits value chains, exploring how technological valorisation pathways can be connected with environmental assessment, economic feasibility and cooperative business-model development.
A distinctive feature of ROBOCOOP-EU is its integrated approach, bringing together complementary expertise across biomass characterisation, process development, product applications, sustainability assessment, stakeholder engagement and business innovation.
The project also promotes participatory approaches, including regional Living Labs, to ensure that emerging technological opportunities are considered alongside the needs, capacities and expectations of agricultural cooperatives and local stakeholders.
ROBOCOOP-EU’s message is clear: advancing the circular bioeconomy requires connecting science, industry and agricultural cooperatives to create sustainable value from biological resources.
