On April 8th, 2025, the ROBOCOOP-EU project was presented at the ERIAFF Annual Conference in Vic, Catalonia, during a plenary session focused on Transformative Innovation: Research & Innovation Priorities and Scaling-Up Challenges.

Dr. Ana Rey Barroso, researcher at the University of Extremadura, showcased ROBOCOOP-EU’s innovative approach to circular bioeconomy through cooperative-owned business models. Her presentation emphasized the project’s contribution to sustainable rural development, particularly by empowering agro-cooperatives to lead in the transition to a bio-based economy, and the involvement of all the actors in the value chain for valorization of the waste streams of grape, olive and stone-fruit sectors in three regional hubs in Greece, Italy and Spain.

The session brought together leading voices from across Europe to discuss how research and innovation can drive systemic change. This participation reflects ROBOCOOP-EU’s ongoing commitment to stakeholder engagement, policy alignment, and knowledge exchange across European regions.
