ROBOCOOP-EU Partners Promote Agri-Food By-Product Valorisation at IBEROVINAC 2024

On March 27, representatives from La Enológica Extremeña and SAT SATIBA—partners of the ROBOCOOP-EU project—actively promoted the valorisation of agri-food by-products at the IBEROVINAC fair in Almendralejo, Extremadura (Spain).

Juan Antonio Álvarez, speaking on behalf of both organizations, participated in a roundtable discussion on technologies and processes for by-product valorisation in the olive oil and wine industries. The session, organized by FUNDECYT-PCTEX, brought together stakeholders from academia, research centers, and R&D support networks. Álvarez contributed insights from the primary industrial sector, sharing both its challenges and forward-looking proposals.

Later in the day, La Enológica Extremeña and SAT SATIBA took part in the second ROBOCOOP-EU Living Lab Extremadura workshop. This collaborative session focused on:

  • Identifying practical solutions for by-product valorisation
  • Fostering networking among attendees
  • Refining business models tailored to the olive, vineyard, and stone fruit sectors in the region

Throughout the event, La Enológica Extremeña also maintained a dedicated stand to promote the ROBOCOOP-EU project, raising awareness of its innovative role in advancing circular economy practices within the agri-food sector.

As a premier regional event, IBEROVINAC serves as a key meeting point for professionals across the wine, olive, and olive oil industries—blending tradition with innovation through exhibitions, tastings, sensory experiences, and strategic business opportunities.
